April´s second week was the most catastrophic, reporting over 4,000 deaths in just 24 hours during two days.

Due to the growing and alarming figures, a parliamentary commission was set up to probe the Senate´s performance in the face of the health crisis.

Complaints emerged in a session to discuss the impact of the pandemic in Latin America and how the European Union can help Latin American countries to fight coronavirus.

Such debates tried to analyze the relationship between high social and economic inequality and the spread of the disease in the region, but accusations against Bolsonaro ended up dominating the session.

‘By action or omission, Bolsonaro’s necropolitics is a crime against humanity that must be investigated,’ said Spanish MEP Miguel Urbán.
