Manuel Rivero, Health’s territorial director, explained to the press that it will be administered to 22,000 healthcare workers and 4,000 students of the University of Medical Sciences of Sancti Spiritus.
Rivero added that the vaccine rooms are in the process of being certified and although there is a room of such type in each of the 23 polyclinics in the territory, others should be created in the provincial institutions until there are over 30 of vaccine rooms.
The vaccination consists of three doses: one on day zero, another at 14 days and the last one at 28 days, the director set out.
This vaccine candidate, promoted by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), is in the 3rd phase of clinical trial and the third and last doses applied to the subjects included in this study are about to be completed.
