The warning, published on Wednesday by Ariana news agency, quoted the US diplomatic mission, according to which, the consular section will continue to provide limited services to US citizens and to process visas for Afghan immigrants.
The US officials did not confirm the number of people from the embassy who will leave, but they insisted that it would be a small number and that all offices and services will remain open.
Commercial flights from the Hamid Karzai International Airport, in Kabul, are still available and the US Embassy strongly suggests that its citizens make plans to leave Afghanistan as soon as possible.
Given the security conditions and the reduction in the personnel, the Embassy’s capacity to assist US citizens in Afghanistan is extremely limited, Ariana news agency added.
