The video, led by Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas), a physician, displayed some congressmen wearing white coats and stethoscopes around their necks, as they spoke for the cameras, a message that some experts said was aimed primarily at GOPs who are more reluctant to be vaccinated.

According to a survey posted by CBS and the YouGov consultancy on Monday, 30% of Republicans say they would not get vaccinated, and 19 % said that ‘maybe’ they would, hence the campaign launched by GOP´s leaders.

‘This vaccine is safe and the best way to end the government’s restrictions on our freedom is to act and get vaccinated,’ said Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-Indiana), a cardiologist and surgeon.

Some of the messages are specially designed to try to appeal to Republicans, pointing out the greater freedom people can have once they get vaccinated.

‘The FDA didn’t skip any steps,’ Rep. Andy Harris (R-Maryland) said in the video so as to counter possible concern about the vaccine.

The Washington Post recently revealed that Trump administration´s officials changed reports from health authorities on the behavior of the pandemic in the United States for political purposes.
