They said in a statement that 69 months after the crimes committed between the night of September 26 and the early morning of September 27, 2014, in Iguala, Guerrero, it is unacceptable that the federal government has not provided an answer.

They announced that they will resume the search in the fields, towns and several places in Guerrero from May 19-23, even amid the risks posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

They recalled that yesterday, as they do on the 26th of every month, the students’ families, together with social organizations and other students marched to the so-called Anti-Monument for the 43, in Mexico City, to claim justice, truth and reparation one more time.

They said in the statement that, despite time, they will continue the fight to find these young men alive. ‘It is a fair and genuine claim that has nothing to do with politicking. What we want is truth and justice. We cannot fail.’

In the absence of results, they said, they will continue to make an appeal month after month to take to the streets to demand that the students show up alive.

Therefore, they called on the entire society to join them on May 26 (on the occasion of the 80th month of the events) in a demonstration that will start in Angel de la Independencia.
