Drivers of line-38 blocked traffic in front of the Ministry of Labor to call for the lifting of new contract suspensions.
The demonstration blocked up the central corner of Herrera and Paraguarí streets, waiting to be received by Vice Minister Luis Ouebe, who asked to meet with the trade unionists.
‘We want this to finish off and citizens have their public transportation available,’ a protester told Radio Cardinal 730 AM.
Transportation limitations happen because many drivers have their contracts suspended, while those who still have their contracts are exploited to cover the public lines, Miguel Zayas, the trade union representative, stressed.
Protesters called for the approval of an educational emergency law and announced other measures this week in demand of those objectives.
