The Indian delegation will be led by Lieutenant General PGK Menon, head of the 14th Army Corps, while the military commander of southern Xinjiang, Major General Liu Lin, will lead the delegation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, according to All India Radio.
On February 20th, the militaries of India and China held the tenth round of talks to reduce tension in the so-called Line of Actual Control, which provisionally separates both countries.
Talks at the corps commander level are taking place once again after an interval of almost two months in order to restore peace between both countries.
The parties completed the withdrawal of troops and war matériel from the shores of Lake Pangong, therefore this Friday’s meeting is focused on the withdrawal from other points of friction, such as Gogra, Hot Springs and the 900-square-kilometer Depsang plains.
Skirmishes between soldiers from both sides in the Galwan Valley, Ladakh, considered the worst clash in more than four decades on the bilateral border, gave subsequently birth to tensions in June 2020.
Both armies agreed to return their troops to positions prior to the start of the conflict in May last year.
