The PDI explained the drug, coming from Bolivia and whose destination was neighborhoods in the southern area of this capital, reached the city of Iquique and was later transported to Cruz del Milenio, in Coquimbo to be transferred to other vehicles in charge of delivering them to drug dealers in the southern area of Santiago.

In the raid, the 35-year-old leader and financier of the drug operation was arrested and 187 kg of base paste, 3kg of cocaine, 1kg of marijuana, a firearm and two vehicles were seized.

Chile´s Interior Minister Rodrigo Delgado considered it good news that the drug did not reach populations and pointed out that the government goes on taking measures to make drug trafficking crackdown more effective.
