France begins Covid-19 vaccine production

Paris, Apr 7 (Prensa Latina) France begins on Wednesday the production of Covid-19 vaccines at a factory located in the northern department of Eure and Loir, after signing contracts with international labs to neutralize the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The Delpharm Company will start the production of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccines, under license from the pharmaceutical companies that put an RNA–based vaccine on the market.

According to French government, Recipharm Company will produce the also RNA-based Covid-19 vaccine from the Moderna laboratory by mid-April.

Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna vaccines were among the first available on the globe to fight the pandemic responsible in the last year for nearly three million deaths, over 97,000 in France.

Agnès Pannier-Runacher, minister of Industry, told the press that France´s objective is to produce as many as 250 million vaccine doses in the country during the rest of the year.

Industrial production of the first French vaccine candidate, a biological preparation from the Sanofi Company, is expected to be produced in summer.
