‘It is not a State genocide as it was against Black or even indigenous people, because it is one practiced by the irresponsibility of one single man who doesn´t care about the pandemic, mocks it and invents medicine,’ Lula said in an in-depth interview with journalist Reinaldo Azevedo.
Lula recalled those millions of infections and deaths from Covid-19 worldwide and expressed solidarity with victims and their relatives.
In view of current health crisis in Brazil, which is presently reporting nearly 4,000 deaths daily, Lula asked Minister of Health Marcelo Queiroga to respond to the requests of governors and mayors ‘who did a very hard job.’ In the same way, Lula sent a message to Bolsonaro: ‘When will you take on the responsibility to stop playing and ruling this country?’, he asked.
He described him as ignorant and proposed him to give up fighting science. ‘Stop talking to your militiamen, talk to the 220 million Brazilians,’ Lula said.
