Europeans to Attend Meeting on Bioceanic Train Project in Bolivia
La Paz, Feb 25 (Prensa Latina) Businesspeople of Gertmany and Switzerland will attend the meeting on the Bioceanic Central Railway Corridor (BCRC), scheduled for next March in Bolivia, announced the local media.
According to German ambassador to Bolivia, Matthias Sonn, the European representation in the meeting will present investment proposals and technology regarding the ambitious project boosted by the government of president Evo Morales.
Sonn advanced that the German Viceminister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Rainer Bomba, will arrive at this Andean nation with businesspeople linked to the sector in order to contribute to the execution of the bioceanic railway.
A representation of the Foreign Ministry of Switzerland will also arrive, the Vicepresident and minister of Transport of Peru, Martin Vizcarra and the Minister of Publioc Works of Paraguay, Ramon Jimenez.
A few days ago, the president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia confirmed the presence of Brazilian governors to the multinational meeting on the bioceanic railway on March 21.

For the Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing of the Amazonic-Andean nation, Milton Claros, the meeting aims to advance in the agreements on the corridor construction.
We are going to generate the memos of understanding to sign with Germany and show the progress of the project in charge of the involved countries. The strategy of the BCRC is an issue of investment, not financing, he clarified.
Considered by Morales as the Panama canal of the 21st century, the corridor is to join the Port of Santos in Brazil (Atlantic) with that of Ilo (Pacific) in Peru, through a railway three thousand 360 kilometers long, to carry national products to markets of China, South Korea, India and Japan.
