11 de enero de 2017, 15:51Santiago de Cuba, Jan 11 (Prensa Latina) A tribute to Jose Marti and Fidel Castro at the Santa Ifigenia cemetery and a meeting with university students and young artists marked the visit to this city until today of US actor Danny Glover.
Glover placed flowers at the tomb of National Hero Jose Marti and the burial niche that holds the remains of leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro since last December 4th.
The visit to Santiago de Cuba follows the route made by Glover to many Cuban cities, in which he has appreciated more closely the reality of the country and the work done by the Revolution during 58 years.
Glover expressed his emotion for this opportunity and stated that in his many trips to Cuba he has always tried to learn and understand the reality and history of this nation and, above all, the capacity to do so much with few resources for the good of its people and to make possible the impossible.
Meanwhile, James Counts Early, a scholar from the United States, said that next March, they will organize an event in New York seeking to lift the US economic, commercial and financial blockade, while describing greater communication between the two countries as a need.
Students of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Universidad de Oriente participated in the meeting along with artists and intellectuals.
