Russia Denies Having Compromising Information against Trump
Moscow, Jan 11 (Prensa Latina) Russia denied having any compromising information against US President-elect Donald Trump, as the American press affirmed, the Kremlin said.
We lack some compromising information about Trump, that is a total misrepresentation, said the official spokesman of the Russian presidency, Dmitri Peskov, when commenting reports issued by the CNN cable network.
That is a total falsehood, said Peskov, who recalled that Trump himself rejected in his Twitter account a version of CNN that quoted well-informed sources in the US government.
All this is aimed at forcing the new administration to maintain the worsening of ties with Moscow, he said.
Russian television reports that such versions allegedly were based on information provided by an ex-agent of MI-6 (British intelligence).
In his twitter account, Trump claimed that the information was a total witch-hunt. However, some senators in the United States rushed to propose an in-depth analysis of such versions.
All of this comes within nine days of the inauguration of the US billionaire, who won the November 8 election as a Republican candidate, but has objections within his own party.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zajarova said in her Facebook page that in the last days of Barack Obama's administration from the White House, only news is being heard against her country.
'Every day I read news from Washington: new sanctions against Russia or supply of anti-aircraft means to armed groups in Syria, all meaningless and damaging actions on all fronts of foreign policy,' said the spokeswoman.
God created the world in seven days and the Obama administration has nine to destroy it, she said ironically.
US Senators yesterday proposed imposing comprehensive sanctions against Russia for its alleged cyberattack against the United States and its position in the Ukrainian crisis.
