Bolivia Seeks Legal Way to Nominate Evo Morales for Reelection
La Paz, Dec 18 (Prensa Latina) Social organizations and political leaders will discuss today four legal ways to nominate President Evo Morales for reelection in 2019.
During the closing ceremony of the 9th Congress of the ruling party Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS), held yesterday, the delegates unanimously passed the proposed nomination of Morales for the period 2020-2025.
President of the MAS Board of Leaders, Rolando Borda, said that the Political Commission of this party identified at least four ways in the Constitution to materialize the nomination of Morales as reelected president.
The main way would be a partial reform of article 168 of the Constitution that can be done by collecting the signatures of at least 20 percent of registered voters, out of a total 6.3 million Bolivians.
On Saturday, Morales agreed to be nominated for reelection provided that it follows the willingness of the people.
