Ethiopia can remain the fastest-growing economy among the eastern African countries, although growth is expected to slow as its government implements measures to stabilize public debt.
The BC expects growth in Kenya to recover as inflation decreases and firm trade with Tanzania to strengthen the growth of investment.
Other growth forecasts for 2018 among Eastern African countries are Kenya (5.5 percent); Tanzania (6.8); Uganda (5.1); and Rwanda (5,9).

Addis Ababa, Jan 12 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopia''s economy will continue this year as the fastest growing in East Africa, according to a World Bank (BC) report released here today.
The indicators of sub-regional leadership of the country were surpassed by those of Ghana, however, at the level of the states of sub-Saharan Africa, adds the report of the global financial entity.
