Lula's Caravan for Brazil Continues to Rio

At his welcome in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday night, the PT founder assured that if he is elected president of the Republic again in 2018, many things will change in Brazil.
In the first place, we will call a referendum to invalidate all the outrages committed by the coup government of Michel Temer, we will undo the shameful actions of dismantling and privatizing Petrobras, undertake the democratization of the media and invest more in education, Lula said. The ex-president underlined that the country is going through its worst crisis in history under the government of a coup leader who is only accepted by the market, because he has put out Brazil for sale. He criticized the successive increases in fuel prices in the domestic market and referred specifically to the case of Rio de Janeiro.
Without the participation of the federal government, there will be no solution to the crisis in Rio, he warned.
For Rio to grow, Petrobras has to invest again, noted Lula, adding that the beginning of the third phase of the caravan with which he is touring the country started in this state precisely in Campos dos Goytacazes, because the first technical school in Brazil was established here.
Between 1909 and 2013, the national elites only built 140 technical schools, while in 12 years of PT governments, we built 500, said Lula, who mentioned other achievements by the PT, like the creation of more than 20 million formal jobs and the removal of 36 million people from poverty.
I do not know what will happen in the future, but I do want to return (to occupy the presidency) only to prove that this elite that is ruling today has no competence, and to assure that the most humble people have equal opportunities, he said.
Lula called on people to remain calm, because 'there is little time left' for the election in October 2018, when hope will defeat lie and desperation, he predicted.
