Chinese Defense Ministry Sends Team to South Sudan
13 de julio de 2016, 11:26Beijing, Jul 13 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of National Defense of China sent on Wednesday a team to Juba, capital of South Sudan, to recover the bodies of the two Chinese peacekeepers who died after the attack on last Sunday.
According to local media, the group is composed of soldiers, members of the Foreign Ministry and doctors.
Two Chinese peacekeepers were killed and five others wounded during clashes between government troops of South Sudanese President Salva Kiir and forces loyal to the First Vice-President, Riek Machar.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry condemned strongly the attack and conveyed its deepest condolences to the victims and their families.
China also called on the government of South Sudan to open a comprehensive investigation into the matter and protect Chinese citizens in that country.
According to Lu Kang, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emergency measures to protect citizens and organizations of China in South Sudan began after the attack on Sunday.
