Cuba Highlights MNOAL's Validity at UN
Geneva, Apr 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuba highlighted the validity and relevance of the founding principles of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (MNOAL) at a difficult moment in the world at the UN headquarters in Geneva.
During a forum dedicated to the 62nd anniversary of the Bandung Conference, considered the organization's founding moment, the chargé d'affaires of Cuban embassy in Geneva, Alina Revilla, pointed out that her country will continue promoting the Mnoal.
'Cuba shares the MNOAL's founding ideals and will continue supporting this movement that maintains its relevance in a world that poses increasingly serious challenges for the future of non-aligned countries,' she said.
In this sense, she emphasized that 'the use of force, threat, coercion and violation of the principles of international law' is constantly happening.
She also stated that 'underdevelopment, poverty, marginalization, hunger, illiteracy, the proliferation of preventable diseases, the deterioration of the environment and the waste of the planet's resources', are also permanent.
Revilla pointed out the need to mobilize in the face of such circumstances and emphasized Mnoal's strength when acting in a established way.
