Congolese People to Verify their Electoral Register from April
Kinshasa, March 19 (Prensa Latina) The President of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Corneille Nangaa, stated that Congolese nationals will have the chance of verifying their personal data from the second half of April.
In July 2016, the electoral file checking should end on July 31 in Kinshasa, where there is a potential of four million voters.
However, the adjournment of the 2016 elections and the uncertainty that they are going to be held in December, as agreed last year, delayed the process, which was marked by the domestic economic crisis.
Nangaa met with Kinshasa deputies. Parliamentarian Patrick Muyaya pledged his support to sensitize his base for mass registration.
'Everything must be done for the success of the process,' he life-twittered.
Meanwhile, the National Press Union of the Congo (UNPC) urged socio-political actors to seriously take their responsibilities as against the political and socio-economic plight and to finalize the work for the implementation of December 31´s agreement.
